Sea Salt Seeking: My Recharge Recipe

This weekend, I’m heading to the beach—my happy place. A quiet beach offers the perfect combination of nature, stillness, and connection with loved ones. For me, it’s the ideal recipe to recharge.

Most of my recharge rituals involve water—ideally moving water—but saltwater is my clear favourite. There’s something about the beach that nourishes every sense:

  • The Sound: Falling asleep to the rhythm of waves is pure magic. At home, I often listen to pink noise soundtracks of waves crashing to capture just a little of that calm.
  • The Smell: The salty tang in the air and the scent of dried salt on your skin after a swim—it’s unmistakably restorative.
  • The Feel: Walking barefoot on the sand, diving into the cool sea, and letting the sun warm your back—it’s grounding and energising all at once.

It’s a reminder that recharging doesn’t need to be elaborate or complicated. Whether it’s the beach, a quiet walk, or even a few minutes of stillness in your day, what matters is making time for what restores you.

This idea of intentional recovery is central to my work, from the Recharge Masterclass to the Recharge Retreats in beautiful places like Byron Bay. Both are designed to help leaders reconnect with what energises them and create space to recharge in ways that are meaningful.

So, what’s your recharge recipe?
