For as long as humankind has existed, culture has been passed down through storytelling. Stories help us understand the world, make sense of our experiences, and connect with one another. The workplace is no different.
When leaders and colleagues share stories, they reveal what matters most. Storytelling isn’t just a way to communicate culture—it’s how we live it.
Presenting your chosen culture on a PowerPoint slide with bullet points won’t shift your culture. Stories will.
Ask yourself:
- What stories are being told in your organisation?
- Are the stories reinforcing the culture you want to create?
- What story could you share today to inspire connection and clarity?
Culture lives in the stories we tell. Shift the story, and you’ll shift the culture.
